I’ve been wondering if it’s safe to share tomatoes with my dog. I know some human foods are great for dogs, while others can be harmful. Does anyone know if tomatoes are safe for dogs to eat? If so, are there any specific parts of the tomato that should be avoided?

In small amounts, ripe tomatoes are generally safe for dogs. They’re low in calories and contain vitamins like A and C, as well as antioxidants.

It’s best to avoid letting your dog eat unripe tomatoes or any part of the tomato plant (leaves, stems, etc.).
